Paolo Tasca

Paolo Tasca is a financial economist specializing in P2P Financial Systems and Systemic Risk.

His research activity complements together methodologies from econometric and portfolio theory with methods from statistical physics and complex network theory. His research appears in top international journals of the Nature publishing group and top peer-review finance journals. He is the co-author of the “FINTECH Book” (the 1st globally crowd-sourced book on FinTech) and also the co-editor of the forthcoming Springer book “Banking Beyond Banks and Money”.

Paolo Tasca is the co-organizer and member of the Scientific Committee of the annual international workshop “P2P Financial Systems”.

He has a professional accountancy background and served as CFO and Member of the Board of Directors for different European and US SME’s in various sectors including mechanical engineering industry and banking software industry. He also has many years stock and derivative trading hands-on experience for major international trading companies, financial advisory firms and hedge funds.

Paolo Tasca is the co-founder and Managing Director of the first Swiss-based digital currency exchange platform to be fully compliant with Swiss and U.S. AML acts and with the Swiss Banking Act.

Paolo Tasca holds an M.A in Politics and Economics (Summa cum laude) from the University of Padua (Italy) and a M.Sc. in Economics and Finance from ICEF, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He did his PhD studies in Business between the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and ETH, Zürich.
